Better Audio and Video for the City of Victoria
Victoria, Texas (10/30/2009) -- Agama Production has worked closely with the City of Victoria to improve the community's access to public meetings. Working under a two-stage approach, the Council Chambers first received an audio system upgrade followed by the installation of a multi-camera video recording system. The hard work has fully come to fruition, and the videos now airing on VTV15 (Cable Ch.15) of the City Council meetings show the state-of-the-art equipment at work.

The aging Council Chambers' audio system was replaced with new, hyper-cardioid microphones, an ‘intelligent’ audio mixing system, digital audio recording and playback capabilities, and high quality, two-way ceiling speakers. Unlike the previous system, the new audio equipment allows every member of the audience to hear the council proceedings. The room's audio system also now supports the needs of visiting news agencies with the addition of a 16-channel PressBox, giving access to a direct feed from the audio system without affecting the operation of the room's PA system or another agency's recording.

The Chambers’ new video system is an equally impressive technological addition. Four, multi-format (4:3 and 16:9), remote controlled cameras are now installed in strategic locations around the room that can provide up-close views of everything that goes on in the room. However, the heart of the upgrade is the newly released, REMO portable remote production system. As one of the first systems of its kind that has been created for this purpose, REMO is a unique system of integrated components that allow up to six cameras to be remotely controlled by the operator and then be dynamically mixed with previously recorded video clips, computer presentation screen images, graphics, and titles. The REMO system also records the Council meeting for broadcast on the city's cable TV channel, VTV15, and for viewing on the city's website.

In addition to supporting the video documentation needs of the City of Victoria, the portability of the REMO allows Agama Production to provide similar service to other clients needing multi-camera coverage of their meeting or event.
